What is more probable?

Your book is interesting but one thing disturbs me in the chapter about the beginning.Doesn't it seem logical that the probability of life creating itself randomly is just as small as the probability of a intellect emerging into existance out of pure nothing? What would you think?

Marek

The essence of Life is intellect. Without intellect (intelligence, memory, ability to learn etc..) no life is possible. Even bacteria are intelligent and have the ability to adapt to new circumstances.

Note that intellect is just about the ONLY thing in the Universe that can and actually does develop itself. Everything else DECAYS.

Now consider the probability of a decaying world (observable Reality) to appear by itself. My logic says that the probability of the development of intellect, although very tiny, is actually an infinite number of times greater than the probability of anything else developing BEFORE it.

@2000 yeas ago a great man expressed it as follows: "If the flesh came into being because of the spirit, it is amazing, but if the spirit came to being because of the body, it is even more amazing. I am amazed, though, at how such great wealth has settled into such poverty." [2]
